What the society runs: community breakfasts, the annual pig roast, ATV rides, dirt bikes, potluck dinners, groomed sled trails, hall rentals, ice fishing, water skiing and skating.
What the society actually is
A hall, a trail network,
and a reason to leave the house.
We started as a snowmobile club. In March 2025 the whole thing became a proper society so it could run year-round, and honestly it should have happened a decade earlier. Four things keep it going.

The Hall
Eighty-six seats, a full kitchen, and the only room on this road big enough for everybody. Birthdays, wakes, meetings, wedding receptions — six hours for a hundred bucks.

The Trails
Groomed through the winter, ridden hard all summer. Members get the map, the gate info, the grooming updates, and usually somebody willing to ride out with you.

It is not a fee for a service. It is a share in a hall, a trail network and a calendar that would not exist otherwise — plus, and people underrate this part, an easy excuse to meet the people living two kilometres away.

You get the map, not just the invite
Membership is what unlocks the trail network — the routes, which gates are open, where the grooming got to last week, and the people who know the ground well enough to keep you out of a bog.

Cheaper hall, and first call on dates
Members rent the hall at member rates and get first shot at the busy weekends. If your kid has a July birthday, you already know why that matters.

Forty dollars runs the whole operation
No staff, no head office, no consultant. Dues buy propane for the hall, fuel for the groomer, and the pig. Every hour of labour behind it is donated by somebody down the road.

It has hosted birthdays, wakes, wedding receptions, AGMs, a curling wind-up and at least one surprise engagement. If you need a room on this stretch of road, this is the room.

$500 refundable damage deposit on every booking, returned once the caretaker has walked through. Capacity is 86 people. Tables and chairs are in the back room — put them back where you found them and everybody stays friends.

What people say
when nobody official is listening.
We came up from Kamloops in September and did not know a single person. Went to the March breakfast because the sign said to. By April somebody was lending us a trailer.
I have booked the hall for two birthdays and a memorial now. It is clean, it is cheap, and somebody has always been in ahead of you to turn the heat on.
The trail map alone is worth the forty. I rode for three seasons guessing which gates were open. Now I just check before I load the quad.
