We’re the volunteer crew behind the hall on South Road — potlucks in the dark months, breakfasts once the ice goes off, the pig roast in April, and the ride out to Eddy’s when the trails dry up. Started as the snowmobile club. Runs all year now.
What’s next
Show up to one and you’ll know half the room by dessert. Nobody checks membership cards at the door — that’s not how it works out here.
Full calendar & registrationWinter · December – March
When the lake locks up and the road goes quiet, the hall does the heavy lifting. Somebody clears a rink. Somebody else brings a slow cooker and stays till the dishes are done. If you moved out here in the fall, this is the winter you stop being the new people.
Spring · March – May
The ice goes off, the road turns to mud, and the hall fills up early. March is pancakes and gossip. April is the Annual Pig Roast — the biggest plate of the year and the one newcomers end up telling people about for a decade.
Summer · May – August
May 17 the group runs the ATV ride out to Eddy’s Pub — a proper day out, not a race, and there’s always somebody happy to ride at the back with you. June brings the ATV and dirt bike event. July 4 there’s breakfast at the hall before the lake gets busy.
Fall · September – November
Golden light on the water, the summer crowd gone home, and a cow moose in the trees behind the hall more often than you’d think. This is the season for the AGM, the roof, the propane, and working out what next year’s calendar looks like. Bring ideas — they get used.
Membership
There’s no interview, no sponsor, no waiting list. You fill in a form, you pay for the year, and the next thing on the calendar is yours to show up to. Kids under ten never pay.
Birthdays, showers, wakes, meetings, the odd wedding. A real kitchen, tables and chairs already there, and a caretaker who answers her phone. Members book first and pay less.
Groomed sled trails through the winter, ATV and dirt bike routes the rest of the year. Kept up by the people who actually ride them, which is why they are in the shape they are in.
The newsletter, the event notices, and the sort of neighbour who notices your driveway has not been plowed in three days and comes to check. That part is not on the price list.
Rent the hall
You call Marie, she opens the door and shows you the kitchen. Tables and chairs are already there. It has hosted eightieth birthdays, curling windups, three wedding receptions and one very long memorial, and it will host whatever you have in mind.

We bought out here in 2023 and knew exactly nobody. Went to the pig roast in April and left with three phone numbers and a fellow who’d lend me his trailer.
I booked the hall for my mum’s eightieth. Marie walked me through the kitchen, the tables were already out, and the whole thing cost less than the tent I nearly rented.
I don’t sled and I don’t ride. I still come to every single breakfast.

Come to the next one
Forty dollars a year for one person, twenty-five for a spouse, ten for anybody else under your roof, and nothing at all for kids ten and under. If you’d rather look before you leap, come to a breakfast first. Nobody will make it weird.
